Your hosts, Chris and Lesley settled in Martock in 1996 after many years spent working overseas, primarily in the Middle East.
We initially moved to Martock to run our own "country pub" which was the realisation of a lifelong dream. Chris's passion for good quality food firmly established our pub as one of Somerset's premiere eating establishments and led to many accolades and awards.
After nearly eight years we reluctantly sold our pub and decided to settle in the village and purchased Winslow House which was a former glove making factory. Martock has a proud history of Glove making. Three years of hard labour, skip full’s of debris, gallons of paint and our home is now completely refurbished and ready for guests to share.
The surrounding area offers many attractions to occupy your time with us. Many of these can be found on our 'Local info' page.
So Winslow Retreat is an ideal base for a short break or perhaps a stepping stone to Devon or Cornwall. Whatever your interest, we're confident that you will return home refreshed and relaxed after sampling our unique brand of hospitality. Winslow Retreat, the perfect Bed and Breakfast for a relaxing break in the Somerset countryside.
We have plenty of available space off road to park your car.
